His & Hers Excellence.
[ TGP Super Issue Special Feature! ]
Some of us are lucky enough to have partners/spouses who accept, if not actively support our automotive interests. They understand the car stuff is important to us, and they might attend the odd event with us, but they’re not really that interested in it, let alone in doing something with it.
Some of us are very lucky, in that our partners/spouses are just as into playing with cars as we are. Sometimes they’ve got matching, His & Hers vehicles. Sometimes they build one machine together. In any case, these couples are uniquely positioned to do something bigger, better, faster, more.
Why? Built-in partnership!
It’s not so much those of us whose other halves are at a disadvantage—it’s more a two heads are better than one kinda thing. Imagine if your best friend was right there with you on the automotive front. Imagine if you and your significant other were both working toward the same goals.
Andy & Mercedes Lilienthal have such an arrangement. They have His & Hers Pajeros, but they also share love for the rest of the vehicles in their collection. What’s more, they’re running two automotive publications while working in the automotive media elsewhere.
You think YOU eat, sleep, and breathe cars. Gearhead couples are in a league of their own!
