F-bombs on LinkedIn!
The other day, some hotshot I know on LinkedIn posted up a deep dive about how job hunting is a selfish proposition. You gotta know yourself, know the value you bring, and relentlessly pursue your dreams.
It was a masterpiece of insight, expertise, and empathy.
And it only had one comment on it 24 hours after publishing.
Of course! It wasn’t the usual fluff piece, filled with “snackable” shortcuts for “busy” people, or written by someone with enough celebrity to bring the digital freeloaders out from under their rocks. It was a charge to stay the course, do the work, and follow-through.
I almost don’t know what came over me.
It was like a bolt of lightning. Maybe the post was the lightning rod—or I was? All I know is I was dropping an F-bomb on LinkedIn (GASP!) moments after getting to the end of the piece.
We live in a world obsessed with “more & easy”. It’s a trap.
And yet, the potential in “better & hard” grows exponentially.
Life is too short to be anything less than 100% authentic. If there’s something about yourself you think others wouldn’t like and you need to keep hidden away to be accepted, you need to ask yourself if something’s wrong with you—or them—and if their acceptance really means that much to you.
It probably doesn’t.
And you will be happier surrounding yourself with others who don’t let superficial bullshit dictate how they live their lives.
You’ve got one life to live. Yours.
Go. Do. Be.
