It’s ALL about FAM.
Have you ever thought about ways to make a little extra cash on the side? Maybe sell off all those oddball spare parts you’ve collected over the years and put that money back into something you really care about today?
How often do you see good parts at the local salvage yard and think, “I should pull that because somebody’s gonna need it”? Or, “It would be nice to have a side hustle and actually MAKE some money with my automotive interests for once, but I’m not looking to start a business”?
You’re gonna want to meet Kevin Roy.

Why Kevin Roy?
Man, I have been looking forward to this one for so long. Wow.
I’ve never spoken with Kevin in real time. We’ve emailed back and forth a few times, and I definitely remember him from back in the Galant VR4.org days—I mean, just look at his GVR4—but being on opposite sides of the country, we’ve never met.
For the record, I love Groot. Groot being Kevin’s stunning, exemplary 2Gb Montero. You’ve probably seen it on Instagram. It’s gorgeous. As far as I’ve seen ALL of Kevin’s family vehicles are gorgeous.
Kevin’s a do-it-right-the-first-time gearhead.
That gearhead life
Though his vehicles command a great deal of attention, Kevin’s more reserved. He’s a consummate family man who sees to it his automotive pursuits add value to the lives of those he cares about most.
He bought his Montero and immediately tore it down to rebuild with all new consumables. He tapped his family and friends overseas to source high quality, exotic trim pieces that give Groot that special something and ability to stand out from the crowd—and Groot is no hard-parking poseur, either. Kevin’s got the fam out exploring all the time.
I love how Kevin, a self-ascribed introvert who places family above all else, not only shares his exceptionally prepared vehicles with the world through social media, but also looks out for strangers who might also want the little extra something special for their machines and makes those bits available as a way of bringing in a little extra cash on the side.
Here’s a dude doing an obviously fantastic job of building cars, family, and life in simple, meaningful ways.
How does he do it?
That’s what we’re gonna find out!
We’re going to talk about how Kevin gets these things aligned into a life well-lived.
Much as we might like to see our automotive passion contribute to our lives and the lives of those we care about, playing with cars costs a lot of money. If you’ve been thinking about how you might better align your automotive life with the love(s) of your life, this is going to be a conversation you don’t want to miss.
